In a photograph that has quickly captured attention on social media, businessman and philanthropist Sir Wicknell Chivayo is seen kneeling beside President Emmerson Mnangagwa, a gesture many of his supporters have interpreted as a powerful expression of humility, loyalty and respect.
The image accompanied a lengthy post in which Chivayo reflected on his meeting with the President following a business trip to Dubai.
Rather than focusing solely on their discussions, the photograph has become the talking point, with many saying it illustrates the high regard in which Chivayo holds the Head of State.
For supporters, the kneeling posture symbolises deference to the Office of the President and echoes Chivayo’s repeated description of Mnangagwa as a leader he deeply admires.
In his accompanying post, Chivayo praised the President’s concern for Zimbabweans stranded in South Africa and revealed that he had committed to mobilising US$1 million to support government repatriation efforts.
While interpretations of the image vary, Chivayo’s supporters have described it as a rare public display of humility from one of Zimbabwe’s most prominent businessmen, arguing that respect for leadership is reflected not only in words but also in actions.
The photograph has since sparked widespread discussion online, adding another chapter to the businessman’s close public association with President Mnangagwa.
