Angel Declares That God Is Interested in Football, Citing 3.5 Billion Fans Worldwide
During an interview on the Scottland Magazine show, Uebert Angel boldly stated that God is interested in football, arguing that the sport’s global popularity makes it spiritually significant.
“Football is not a small thing—nearly 3.5 billion people follow soccer,” Angel said. “If this number is interested in soccer, then God is also interested.”
Angel said the emotional impact of football, its ability to unite crowds, and the joy it brings are clear signs that it plays a constructive role in society.
He added that large crowds who could potentially be involved in crime often find positive engagement through football:
“Imagine 60,000 people who might have been committing crime gathering together to watch football.”
Angel also promised a special announcement about Scotland FC during his Sunday service.
