BREAKING NEWS: Justice For The Dead As Muvevi Gets 4 Life Terms Plus 40 Years In Prison

Former police detective Jaison Muvevi has been sentenced to four life terms plus an additional 40 years in prison after being convicted of four counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder by Justice Gibson Mandaza at the Harare High Court.

Muvevi was found guilty over a deadly shooting spree that terrorised parts of Harare, Wedza and Manicaland between 2022 and 2023, leaving four people dead, including Wedza police officer Inspector Maxwell Hove.

The former detective had pleaded insanity during trial proceedings, claiming he was being haunted by “evil spirits and goblins” when the murders were committed.

His defence team argued that he was mentally unstable and sought a special verdict, but the court dismissed the application and convicted him on all counts.
