Cold-blooded murderer sentenced to two life terms

In a landmark ruling, a Bulawayo High Court has sentenced Peter Dube to two life terms and an additional 20 years after he went berserk fatally shooting two people and seriously injuring two other people following domestic dispute in 2021.

Dube, who was recently convicted on two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder by the Bulawayo High Court, was sentenced on 26 November 2025 to two life imprisonment terms plus an additional 20 years.

NPA said the sentences were as follows, Count 1 (Murder)- life imprisonment on Count 2 (Murder)-Life imprisonment, Count 3 (Attempted Murder)-10 years imprisonment and Count 4 (Attempted Murder)-10 years imprisonment.

“The offences occurred on the 22 April 2021 in Gweru when the offender fatally shot Shelton Chiduku and Gamuchirai Madungwe, and attempted to kill Nyasha Nharingo and Nyaradzo Nharingo following a domestic dispute.
“Evidence presented in court showed that after an altercation at his apartment, Dube armed himself with a firearm, shot the two deceased victims who were seated in a vehicle and later shot the two surviving victims inside the apartment.’ said NPA.

During court proceedings Dube denied the charges, claiming mental instability at the time, the court found him fully responsible for the brutal attacks.
