Rapper Mukudzei Chitsama, known professionally as Holy Ten, appeared in court on Wednesday charged with raping a 14-year-old girl.
The 27-year-old Holy Ten is facing one count of rape involving a minor. According to the State’s outline, the alleged incident happened on July 20. Earlier that day, the complainant and a friend had gone to Avondale shops, where he was filming a music video.
The teenager says she had been invited to take part in the shoot. Around 6pm, the friend left for home, and the court heard that Holy Ten then drove the complainant to a bed-and-breakfast in Hatfield, where he was staying.
Prosecutors told the court that when they arrived, there were “many people; all of them were men.” Holy Ten allegedly led the girl into his room and locked the door from the inside. The state alleges he threatened to kill her if she did not do what he wanted.
He then undressed her and forced her onto the bed. Court papers further claim that four other unidentified men entered the room and held her down. “Two held the complainant’s hands… while the other two held her legs,” the State said.
Holy Ten is accused of raping the minor once without her consent and without protection. Afterward, the court heard, he asked one of the men to arrange transport for the girl back to Avondale shops.
She later reunited with her aunt, with whom she lives. She initially told her aunt she had been visiting a friend, but later disclosed what allegedly happened.
The aunt took her to police, and Holy Ten was subsequently arrested. The four other men alleged to have been involved are still being sought by police.
