Harare Police Approve Arsenal F.C. End-Of-Season Celebrations

Supporters of Arsenal F.C. in Harare have been given the green light by police to stage an end-of-season celebration parade in the city centre on May 31 following the club’s long-awaited league success.

A clearance letter issued by Harare Central District Police on May 22 authorises the Arsenal Fans Harare Chapter to march from Harare Gardens along Herbert Chitepo Street and Prince Edward Street before holding a gathering at Alexandra Sports Club from 2PM to 5PM.

The approval was signed by Superintendent S. Mbimbi on behalf of the Officer Commanding Police.

The planned festivities come just hours after Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League final clash against Paris Saint-Germain F.C. on May 30, with supporters hopeful the celebrations could also include a European title triumph.

Arsenal recently ended a 22-year wait to win the English Premier League crown, sparking excitement among supporters worldwide, including in Zimbabwe.
