Man fatally struck with a slasher

A confrontation by a concerned  Mwenezi man over an alleged love affair with his sister-in-law ended fatal after he struck on the head with a garden slasher.

National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the tragic incident saying investigations are underway.

“The ZRP is investigating a murder case which occurred on 20 November 2025 at Hatibudi Village, Mwenezi.
“The suspect, Muchengete Mtombeni (38) allegedly struck Milton Chuma (25) twice on the head with a slasher after the victim confronted him over an alleged affair with the victim’s sister-in-law,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

He further revealed that the victim was taken to Neshuro Hospital, where he died upon admission.

In an unrelated incident Commissioner Nyathi said the ZRP is also investigating a fatal hit-and-run accident which occurred on 17 November 2025 at corner Samora Machel Avenue and Parklane Street in Harare.

“A motorist who was driving a Toyota Hiace struck a 23-year-old woman.
“The motorist did not stop after the accident. The victim sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospital where she died upon admission.”
