Mother Fatally Stabs Daughter to Impress Boyfriend

In a heart-wrenching incident, a Mkwasine mother fatally stabbed her daughter in a tragic attempt to impress her boyfriend an act that has left the community shell-shocked.

National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident, saying they arrested Geviza Fadzai (35) in connection with a murder case that occurred on 25 November 2025 at Village 2, Fair Range, Mkwasine.

After committing this heinous act, the mother went to great lengths to cover her tracks regarding the cause of her daughter’s death.

“The suspect allegedly stabbed her three-year-old daughter on the neck with a knife and went on to inform a neighbour that the child had been attacked by four unknown assailants.

“She then proceeded to the village head, where she claimed that the child had died due to natural causes,” said Commissioner Nyathi.

He said the offence later came to light during burial arrangements when a deep cut was observed on the victim’s neck, and a report was made at ZRP Mkwasine.

“Police investigations established that the suspect allegedly killed her daughter so that she could marry her new boyfriend, who was unwilling to marry her while she had a child.

The victim’s body was taken to Chiredzi General Hospital for a post-mortem.”
