Police Seek Public Help to Identify Robbery Suspect Shot Dead
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a man who was shot dead by detectives during a robbery incident in Hatfield, Harare.
National Police Spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the development.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is appealing to the public to assist in the identification of the body of an unknown adult male, estimated to be between 30 and 35 years of age.
“The unknown individual was involved in a shootout with detectives along Twentydales Road in Hatfield, Harare, on 13 October 2025, following a robbery incident in which he allegedly stole a motor vehicle from a complainant,” he said.
Commissioner Nyathi added that a post-mortem examination has been conducted and the body is currently being held at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital Mortuary.
He urged anyone with information to come forward.
“Members of the public who may have information that can assist in the identification of the deceased, or who may know his relatives, are kindly requested to report to the nearest police station or contact the National Complaints Desk on (0242) 703631 or via WhatsApp on 0712 800 197.”
