By Enia Dube
President Mnangagwa is set to visit the city of Bulawayo on Friday, December 12, 2025, to commission the Presidential Housing Scheme projects at Marhaba and Hawkflight.
The event, scheduled to take place at Mthunzini Suburbs near Pumula South, is expected to attract thousands of people from across the province.
The Presidential Housing Scheme is a flagship project aimed at providing affordable housing to Zimbabweans, particularly those in the low-income bracket.
The projects at Marhaba and Hawkflight are part of the Government’s efforts to address the country’s housing shortage and improve the living standards of its citizens.
Speaking on the upcoming event, officials from the ruling ZANU-PF party urged all party members and supporters to turn out in large numbers to welcome the President. “Let us all mobilise intensively to ensure that we give our President a befitting welcome,” said a statement from the party’s information department.
Transport and food will be provided for those attending the event, which is expected to start at 8am.
The commissioning of the housing projects is seen as a significant milestone in the Government’s efforts to deliver on its promises to the people.
President Mnangagwa’s visit to Bulawayo is also expected to provide an opportunity for him to engage with local leaders and stakeholders on issues affecting the province. The event is likely to be a show of the Government’s commitment to the development of the region and the country as a whole.
