PSL Yet to Approve Gate Charges for Historic Chahwanda Stadium Opener
The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) has not approved the proposed gate charges for the highly anticipated clash between Hardrock FC and Scottland FC scheduled for this Sunday at Chahwanda Stadium, this publication can confirm.
Speaking exclusively to Hurumende.com, PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare said the league had not sanctioned any ticket prices for the fixture despite announcements made by the hosting club.
“The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League has not approved any gate charges for that match,” said Bare.
Hardrock FC on Monday announced that fans would pay US$10 for the rest of the ground to attend the encounter, a figure that has sparked debate among local football supporters.
Traditionally, rest-of-the-ground tickets in PSL matches cost around US$3, with high-profile fixtures usually pegged at approximately US$5.
The match carries historic significance as it will mark the first competitive fixture to be played at the newly constructed Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe.
Hardrock FC confirmed the US$10 entrance fee ahead of what is expected to be a landmark occasion for the club and the city’s football community.
The stadium, developed by businessman and Hardrock FC president Shepherd Chahwanda, is viewed as a major investment in local sport infrastructure and is expected to boost football development in the Midlands province.
Sunday’s encounter is also shaping up to be a blockbuster contest, with both Hardrock FC and Scottland FC attracting growing attention following strong activity in the transfer market and rising supporter interest.
However, uncertainty remains over the final ticket pricing structure pending official approval from the league authorities.
