League champions Scottland FC are in trouble after allegedly vandalising property at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo following their Chibuku Super Cup quarter final defeat to Highlanders.

According to a Bulawayo City Council (BCC) report, the visiting side damaged a television set and mirrors in their dressing room after the tense clash, which ended 2-2 before Highlanders triumphed 2-1 in a penalty shootout on September 21, 2025.

The BCC confirmed that the Premier Soccer League (PSL) has been notified to ensure Scottland FC replaces the damaged items.

“Barbourfields Stadium hosted a high profile encounter between Highlanders FC and Scottland FC on 21 September. The visiting team damaged a television set and mirrors in their dressing room. The Premier Soccer League was informed to facilitate replacement by the concerned team,” reads part of the council report.

The report also noted that some Highlanders supporters tore down a section of the pitch perimeter fence while celebrating their team’s victory. The council said repair quotations have been sought, with costs expected to be covered by the deposit paid by the home team as per policy.
