Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with an alleged stock theft case following an operation conducted under Operation Shining Star at the Umguza Roadblock.
Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) identified the suspect as Eric Masuku (19) of Gwabalanda, Bulawayo. He was arrested by officers from ZRP Queens Park for allegedly contravening Section 114 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act [Chapter 9:23], which relates to stock theft.
According to police, officers intercepted a silver Honda Fit at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 28 while conducting routine operations at the roadblock.
A search of the vehicle allegedly led to the recovery of a skinned cow carcass, seven blood-stained knives, an axe and a machete.

Police said two passengers who were travelling in the vehicle allegedly jumped out and fled the scene before they could be apprehended.
Masuku, who was reportedly driving the vehicle, was arrested at the scene and is assisting police with investigations.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said investigations are continuing, while efforts are underway to locate and arrest the two outstanding suspects.
Police have urged members of the public with information that may assist in the investigation to report to their nearest police station.
