“We Need God’s Deliverance”: ZSSA Calls Nation to Prayer for Warriors
The Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association’s Mr. M. Zhakata yesterday urged all religious leaders, gospel musicians, and other artists to come and pray on the National Day of Prayer in support of the national team ahead of their AFCON tournament this Saturday.
Speaking at a meeting held at Jameson Hotel, Cde Zhakata emphasized the importance of the National Day of Prayer to the Warriors and encouraged people to continue supporting the national team.
“As supporters of the national football team, we have been to many countries supporting our country, and now we are heading to Morocco for the Africa Cup of Nations.
The main thing we need is God’s deliverance. For many years we have been failing to come out of the group stages. This time we need to pray for our national team and hope they will make it,” said Cde Zhakata.
The National Team Supporters President, Mr. Matawu, invited all Zimbabweans to join the Association and support the national team.
“For our national team to play with confidence, they need supporters. Not only supporters in Zimbabwe, but supporters from all over the world are coming to support our national team, and everyone is free to join,” Mr. Matawu stated.
