The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) is set to carry out door-to-door inspections of broadcasting licences at Borrowdale Brooke Village in Harare as part of an exercise to check compliance among residents.
According to a letter dated September 2, 2026, circulating on social media, ZBC licensing inspectors will conduct the exercise from Monday, September 7, to September 18, 2026.
The notice, addressed to the Security Manager at Borrowdale Brooke, says inspectors will visit individual households to verify whether residents have valid ZBC broadcasting licences.
Households without valid licences will also be given an opportunity to purchase or renew their licences during the exercise.
ZBC has reportedly asked the estate’s management and security personnel to assist its inspectors and facilitate access to properties where necessary.
The corporation said the cooperation would help ensure that the inspection exercise is conducted smoothly and efficiently.
A home broadcasting licence, which covers both television and radio services, currently costs US$24 per year.
The planned inspections are expected to place renewed attention on broadcasting licence compliance among households in the upmarket Harare suburb.
Residents are therefore advised to have their broadcasting licence details available when approached by the ZBC inspection team.
