Zimbabwe is strengthening its national cybersecurity capacity through ongoing cooperation with Russian technology partners, following a high-level engagement between local ICT officials and representatives from Cyberus.

The meeting reviewed progress made under the partnership, which has already seen 3,200 young Zimbabweans trained in cybersecurity skills. The initiative forms part of a broader national target to equip at least 10,000 youths with the expertise needed to safeguard the country’s digital future.

Officials described the development as a significant step in empowering young people to play a meaningful role in protecting Zimbabwe’s growing digital ecosystem.

The programme is now entering a new phase, with Cyberus set to train key personnel within Government ministries, departments, and agencies. The move is expected to strengthen institutional capacity and improve internal digital resilience across the public sector.

Authorities say the collaboration is also helping to identify priority projects that will enhance national online safety and support the country’s long-term digital transformation goals.

The partnership is viewed as a critical component in building a secure and resilient digital environment as Zimbabwe continues to expand its use of technology in governance, business, and everyday life.
