Zimbabwe Joins High-Level Talks at Africa Forward Summit
By Everisto Zhuwao
Higher and Tertiary Education Minister, Professor Amon Murwira, led a high-powered delegation to Kenya on Tuesday to represent President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the Africa Forward Summit.
The Nairobi gathering has attracted more than 2,000 leaders from Africa and France. The summit includes politicians, economic experts, civil society representatives, and sports personalities.
The meeting is focused on finding practical solutions to challenges affecting both Africa and France. Leaders are also exploring business and political opportunities that can benefit all parties involved.
Professor Murwira’s participation forms part of Zimbabwe’s ongoing “EDiplomacy” drive. The country is seeking to strengthen engagement with international partners and promote investment opportunities.
“The summit seeks to identify practical solutions and opportunities for both parties,” noted a delegation member from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. “It is about addressing shared challenges through real engagement,” he further said.
The combination of political leaders and sports personalities has given the summit a unique atmosphere. Delegates say the diverse participation reflects the need for collective solutions to global and continental challenges.
The Zimbabwean delegation is expected to hold several side meetings before the summit concludes to further market local investment opportunities.
