Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU-PF, has unveiled a comprehensive plan to empower women economically and socially. At the party’s 21st Annual National People’s Conference, key resolutions tackled women’s economic empowerment and inheritance rights.

ZANU-PF aims to provide women with economic empowerment opportunities, granting access to competitive businesses. This initiative promotes women’s economic inclusion, driving economic growth, financial stability, and reducing income inequality. Women-owned businesses will receive support, fostering entrepreneurship.

The party will address challenges affecting women and widows regarding inheritance of estates from deceased husbands. Widows will be protected from heavy taxes when changing property ownership, ensuring economic security. This move safeguards women’s rights, preventing financial hardship.

These initiatives align with global efforts to promote women’s economic empowerment and inheritance rights. UN-Women and the IMF have emphasized the importance of investing in women’s economic inclusion. ZANU-PF’s commitment demonstrates its dedication to transforming Zimbabwe’s future.

By empowering women economically and socially, the party creates a more equitable society. Women’s participation in the economy will stimulate growth, improve livelihoods, and enhance Zimbabwe’s development.

The conference, attended by over 4,000 delegates, fostered discussions on the party’s performance and future direction. Women’s empowerment is now a priority in Zimbabwe’s development agenda. ZANU-PF’s resolve to empower women will yield significant benefits for the nation.
