CAPS United have named former Ngezi Platinum Stars coach Takesure Chiragwi as their new head coach.

Club president Farai Jere announced the development during a press briefing held in Harare on Friday morning.

Chiragwi will be joined by Ian Bakala, who continues in his role as assistant coach after leading the team last season.

The ex-CAPS United left-back comes with an expanded technical team drawn from Ngezi Platinum Stars. His backroom staff includes team manager Tinashe Nemgomasha, goalkeepers’ coach Cloudious Gundudza, and performance analysts Garry Muchakata and John Vera.

Chiragwi has also brought in a strong group of players from his former club. The arrivals include defenders Nyasha Gurende and Kudzwai Chigwida, midfielders Richard Hachiro, Talent Chamboko, and Macdonald Makuwe, as well as forwards Delic Murimba and Obriel Chirinda.

He is set to officially assume his duties on 1 January next year.
