NetOne Connects Communities at Colourful Maphisa Independence Celebrations
By Staff Reporter
The Independence celebrations held in Maphisa were marked by excitement, unity, and national pride as thousands of people from across the district gathered to commemorate Zimbabwe’s 46 years of independence.
People of all ages thronged the venue in a vibrant display of patriotism, entertainment, and community spirit, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the celebrations.
Among the organisations that participated prominently was NetOne, whose team was present in full force, led by Group Chief Executive Officer Engineer Raphael Mushanawani. The company joined communities in celebrating the historic occasion while reaffirming its commitment to national development and digital inclusion.
NetOne’s participation added colour and energy to the festivities through the popular #UmuntuWonkeeNetOne roadshow, which attracted massive crowds in Maphisa. Residents had the opportunity to interact directly with the NetOne team, learn more about the company’s services, and enjoy various entertainment activities.
The roadshow also provided a platform for people to register new SIM cards, access information about digital connectivity services, and participate in promotional activities that featured exciting giveaways and prizes.
Music, laughter, and celebrations filled the air as community members gathered around the NetOne stand, where smiles and excitement reflected the strong bond between the telecommunications company and the public it serves.
Speaking during the celebrations, company representatives said NetOne remains committed to building stronger community connections and supporting national initiatives that promote unity, inclusion, and technological empowerment.
The Independence Day commemorations in Maphisa brought together government officials, businesses, community leaders, and ordinary citizens in a shared celebration of Zimbabwe’s journey since attaining independence in 1980.
