The Stoneridge community is grief-stricken and shell-shocked after a 13-year-old teenager assaulted his age-mate over a packet of snacks, who later died due to the injuries sustained.
National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the tragic incident, saying investigations are underway.
Police in Harare are investigating a case of murder in which a 13-year-old male juvenile died after being assaulted by another 13-year-old male juvenile following an argument over sharing a packet of snacks.
The incident occurred on 28 November in Stoneridge Park.
In a related incident, Commissioner Nyathi said police in Mhondoro have arrested one of the two suspects who fatally assaulted a man after accusing him of stealing their donkeys.
“Police in Mhondoro are investigating a case of murder which occurred on 28 November 2025 at Chimera Village, Mubaira.
The suspects, Admire Mudimu (35) and Bright Chinamariga, allegedly took turns to assault the victim, Fred Chimera (57), with open hands, a sjambok, and logs after accusing him of stealing their donkeys,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
He said Mudimu has since been arrested, while Chinamariga is on the run.
