Minister Rwodzi Launches 2025 Domestic Tourism Festive Season Campaign in Kariba
By Takudzwa Karowangoro
KARIBA – Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Honourable Barbara Rwodzi, has officially launched the 2025 Domestic Tourism Festive Season Campaign in Kariba, marking the start of what is expected to be a lively holiday period for the tourism sector.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Rwodzi highlighted that the decentralisation of national tourism events is part of government’s strategy to promote and revive tourism destinations across the country.

She emphasised that taking such initiatives to different regions would boost local economies and encourage Zimbabweans to explore the nation’s diverse attractions.
The campaign, themed “Experience Zimbabwe,” aims to showcase the country’s natural beauty, cultural heritage, and adventure opportunities while encouraging citizens to travel locally during the festive season.

The event drew tourism stakeholders, local authorities, and community members who gathered to celebrate Kariba’s role as a key tourism hub.
The festivities featured music, cultural displays, and promotional activities designed to enhance awareness of domestic tourism opportunities.

Minister Rwodzi urged Zimbabweans to take pride in their country’s tourism heritage and support local destinations, saying increased domestic travel would strengthen community livelihoods and sustain the tourism industry’s growth.
