His Excellency, the first Secretary of the ruling party ZANU-PF, President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, on Wednesday chaired a crucial Central Committee meeting at the party headquarters in Harare.
This marks the second day of the 21st Annual National People’s Conference, a crucial event designed to shape the party’s future policies and strategies.
Key discussions are anticipated to revolve around economic recovery plans, enhancing party unity, and addressing rising public discontent over pressing issues, such as, inflation and unemployment.
During the conference, President Mnangagwa welcomed attendees to the 379th session of the Politburo where a moment of silence was observed in stalwart of our war of liberation, the late National Hero, Cde Tshinga Judge Dube. In their honour, memory, and remembrance, The Secretary General, invited the Central Committee to observe a minute of silence.
He commended the efforts of the coordinating committee, party staff, and Bulawayo Province for their preparatory work leading up to the conference.
Emphasising the party’s commitment to land reform, President Dr. Mnangagwa reiterated that the programme is “irreversible and protected,” announcing the implementation of a land tenure policy aimed at making agricultural land bankable, registrable, and transferable among indigenous Zimbabweans.
This is a testament that ZANU PF is a constitutionally entrenched revolutionary mass-Party, with a long, rich history and proud liberation war heritage. Since establishment, the Party has always championed and promoted constructive debate as well as internal democracy. We have always rejected any practices and conduct that are inconsistent with our laws and regulations outlined in the Party Constitution.
Members, here gathered, the current crop of senior leaders have the duty to carry on with that rich, deep-rooted tradition, in the footsteps of luminaries and founding fathers of our great Party.
