Mnangagwa Returns from Diplomatic Tour, Greeted by Top Officials in Early Morning Arrival

President Emmerson Mnangagwa arrived back in Zimbabwe around 2 a.m. following an extensive diplomatic trip, where he was met at the airport by Acting President Constantino Chiwenga, Vice President Kembo Mohadi, and a number of high-ranking government and military officials.

The president’s tour included official visits to Equatorial Guinea, Japan, and Algeria.

While in Equatorial Guinea, he participated in the 7th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit. There, he encouraged African leaders to embrace local, self-sustaining strategies to tackle the continent’s development challenges.

Mnangagwa then traveled to Japan, where he served as Guest of Honour for Zimbabwe’s National Day at Expo 2025 Osaka. During his visit, he also addressed a business forum, engaged with the Zimbabwean diaspora, and promoted investment opportunities in the tourism sector.

The trip concluded with a two-day state visit to Algeria, during which Zimbabwe and Algeria reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation across multiple areas of mutual interest.
