Wrestling legend and pop culture icon Hulk Hogan has died at the age of 71.

Born Terry Bollea, Hogan rose to international stardom in the 1980s and 1990s as the face of World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE), becoming one of the most recognized figures in professional wrestling history. His death was confirmed early Tuesday, though details surrounding the cause have not yet been made public.

Hogan made his professional wrestling debut in 1977, and by the early 80s, he had become the defining superstar of the sport — headlining WrestleMania, feuding with legendary opponents like Andre the Giant and “Macho Man” Randy Savage, and captivating audiences with his charisma, larger-than-life persona, and signature catchphrases like “Whatcha gonna do when Hulkamania runs wild on you?”

In addition to his wrestling accolades, Hogan became a mainstream celebrity, starring in films such as Suburban Commando and Mr. Nanny, and appearing in numerous commercials and television shows. He later transitioned into reality TV with Hogan Knows Best in the 2000s.

Hogan was a six-time WWE Champion and a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, making him one of the most decorated performers in professional wrestling. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, and again in 2020 as part of the legendary nWo faction.

Fans, colleagues, and fellow wrestlers have begun pouring out tributes across social media, remembering Hogan not just for his in-ring achievements but also for the indelible impact he had on global entertainment and pop culture.

Further updates are expected as more details emerge.
