The ruling party’s Austin Phikelele secured a decisive win with 1,577 votes, comfortably beating independent challenger Joseph Macheke, who got 265 votes in Chiredzi.

Meanwhile, in Marondera, Tonganashe Fiona, representing ZANU-PF, emerged victorious with 928 votes, far ahead of independent candidate Zayanga Bigbaro, who managed only 22 votes.
