Midlands Province-Newly installed Chief Chirumhanzu, born Abraham Marufu Nyamande, has called for unity among his people in Midlands Province, stating that it was essential for the advancement of his kingdom.

He made these remarks during an interview on the sidelines of Vice President Kembo Mohadi’s visit to the Dinson Iron and Steel plant in Mvuma yesterday.

“Since the day I was installed as Chief of Chirumhanzu, there has been great progress in my chieftainship,” said Chief Chirumhanzu.

Chief Chirumhanzu expressed optimism about the progress made since his installation, likening his leadership to a reed basket that starts small and gradually takes shape. His vision is for Chirumhanzu to become a “great community” where “everyone… will feed from it,” implying an end to hunger and poverty in his area.

“At the moment, I am taking it one step at a time, putting everything in place. I can liken my leadership to a reed basket, which when woven starts small and gradually takes shape.

“Everyone in Churumhanzu will feed from it. As we speak, there is no hunger or poverty in Chutumhanzu.”
He also pledged to reduce unemployment in his jurisdiction, aiming for full employment by 2030, citing the developments spearheaded by Dinson Company as a key factor.

“I am looking forward to reduce unemployment rate in my area and by 2030 everyone should be employed,” imploring his community to work towards this goal.

“My slogan as Chief Chirumhanzu is ‘One voice, One Word, One Father, One God’. I want my people to unite and work with a common cause and standing together through challenges and successes. Unity will lead us to significant progress, making Chirumhanzu great.

“If the going gets tougher, we should be united and even if things get better, we must rejoice together as well. We should have one voice, one father and one God. If we unite, we can make Chirumhanzu a beacon for other areas in the Southern Africa region, and these nations are not as rich as Chirumhanzu.”
