Glen View Fire Destroys Traders’ Goods Again
A devastating fire has once again swept through the Glen View Area 8 Complex in Harare, causing extensive damage and significant losses for local traders.
The blaze erupted on Sunday morning at the furniture-manufacturing hub, marking the second fire to hit the complex in less than a month. A similar incident occurred on 27 July 2025, also on a Sunday.
The Harare Fire Brigade responded promptly and managed to extinguish the flames by afternoon. However, much of the property had already been destroyed, leaving traders counting heavy losses.
Authorities have launched investigations into the cause of the fire and are assessing the full extent of the damage and the economic impact on affected businesses.
No casualties have been reported so far.
