President Mnangagwa Engages UNDP on Development Cooperation at TICAD 9
While attending the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Yokohama, Japan, President Emmerson Mnangagwa held a closed-door meeting with Mr. Haoliang Xu, the Acting Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Following their discussion, Mr. Xu expressed the UNDP’s continued support for Zimbabwe’s development goals. He commended the progress made under President Mnangagwa’s leadership and highlighted the strong partnership between the UNDP and the Zimbabwean government.
“We had a constructive dialogue about Zimbabwe’s recent strides in development,” Mr. Xu noted. “Our collaboration spans several key areas including economic reforms, environmental sustainability, healthcare improvements, and strategies for youth employment through innovation. The UNDP remains deeply committed to assisting Zimbabwe in achieving its national development objectives.”
