N’ombeyaora Coach Sanctioned for Storming Pitch in Agama Clash
N’ombeyaora Football Club head coach, Nesbert Saruchera, has been slapped with a US$5,000 fine and a two-match touchline ban following unsporting behavior during his team’s clash against Agama FC on Sunday, September 14.
According to the National Regional Soccer League (NRSL), Saruchera twice invaded the pitch in protest after Agama’s goal was awarded, before confronting match officials at the final whistle. The league described his actions as “unacceptable” and a breach of professional conduct expected from coaches.
NRSL Chairman, M. Kweza, noted that the coach had previously been fined US$3,500 last year for similar conduct. “The recurrence of such behavior following previous sanctions heightens the seriousness of this incident,” Kweza said in a formal reprimand.
The punishment will see Saruchera barred from the touchline for Match Weeks 29 and 30, with immediate effect. The US$5,000 fine must be paid by September 26, 2025, and the coach will remain suspended until the amount is settled in full.
The league warned that any further misconduct could attract harsher penalties, including longer suspensions or additional fines.
