Munetsi Fires Wolves Into Carabao Cup Next Round
Warriors vice-captain Marshall Munetsi found the net for Wolverhampton Wanderers in their 2-0 Carabao Cup triumph over Everton on Tuesday night.
The midfielder opened the scoring in the 28th minute, reacting quickly to slot home a rebound and give Wolves a halftime advantage. His strike was later followed by Tolu Akodare’s late goal in the 87th minute, which sealed the result.
It was Munetsi’s first goal of the campaign and his third since arriving at Molineux in January. He has steadily grown into an influential presence for Wolves, especially after the departure of last season’s standout player, Matheus Cunha, who joined Manchester United.
While the cup victory offered a boost, Wolves have struggled in the Premier League, suffering five consecutive defeats to start the season. Their next challenge will be an away clash against Tottenham in London this weekend.
