Zimbabwe’s music scene is gearing up for one of its biggest events of the year, with award winning artists Winky D and Jah Prayzah scheduled to headline a massive New Year’s Eve concert at the Hockey Stadium, inside the National Sports Stadium complex, on 31 December.

The event, titled One Big Party, is being organised by Chipaz Promotions and is expected to attract thousands of fans eager to close off 2025 in style with performances from two of the country’s most influential music heavyweights.

Promoter Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza confirmed the concert, describing it as a landmark celebration that will bring together music lovers from across the country. He said preparations are already underway to ensure a safe, well coordinated event at one of Harare’s largest outdoor facilities.

“This is a historic show. Bringing Winky D and Jah Prayzah together on New Year’s Eve is something fans have been asking for, and we are delivering it at the highest level,” Chipaz said. “We are putting in place world class staging, lighting and security to make sure everyone enjoys the night responsibly.”

The two artists, known for commanding huge crowds and delivering high energy performances, will share the stage for the first time in several months. Winky D, popularly known as DiBigman, remains a dominant force in dancehall, while Jah Prayzah continues to set the pace in contemporary Zimbabwean music with his blend of afro fusion and traditional influences.

Music analysts say the collaboration between the two stars on such a major platform is expected to provide a significant boost to the entertainment industry, which has recorded growing demand for large-scale year end concerts.

Authorities have indicated that additional security, traffic control and emergency services will be deployed around the National Sports Stadium complex to manage the anticipated high turnout.

Event organisers are also expected to release more details on supporting acts, ticket pricing and entry guidelines in the coming weeks.

For now, excitement continues to build as Zimbabwe counts down to what is shaping up to be one of the biggest New Year’s Eve celebrations on the entertainment calendar.

IShowSpeed Turns Zimbabwe into a Must-Visit

As the world tunes into the high-energy adventures of American streaming sensation Darren Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed, his recent stop in Zimbabwe during the epic “Speed Does Africa” tour has delivered an unexpected but powerful boost to the nation’s tourism profile.

Arriving in early January 2026 as part of an ambitious 28-day journey across 20 African countries, Speed’s chaotic, authentic, and massively viewed livestreams from Harare and Victoria Falls have introduced millions of young global fans to Zimbabwe’s vibrant culture, stunning natural wonders, and welcoming spirit—proving once again the immense value of influencer-driven marketing in the digital age.

Speed’s Zimbabwe leg, spanning January 7–8, 2026, was nothing short of viral gold. In Harare, massive crowds turned the city centre into a carnival of excitement as fans mobbed him for selfies, dances, and unforgettable interactions.

Highlights included cultural moments like paying homage at the Mbuya Nehanda Statue, where he was entertained by local talents such as “The Guitar Sangoma” Sylent Nqo and “The Princess of Mbira” Hope Masike.

He also took part in a thrilling strength challenge with Africa’s Strongest Woman, Chido Maenzanise, flipping tyres and pulling vehicles in a fun display of Zimbabwean athletic prowess.

The energy peaked with iconic encounters that captured the internet’s imagination—most notably meeting his Zimbabwean “twin,” a local fan dubbed “Temu Speed” (or “Zimbabwe Speed”), whose lookalike antics and high-octane vibe created hilarious, shareable moments that trended worldwide.

These spontaneous, unscripted interactions showcased Zimbabwe’s youthful, lively people in the most relatable way possible.

The tour’s grand finale came at Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and Zimbabwe’s premier tourism gem. Speed dove into the adventure headfirst, swimming in the famous Devil’s Pool at the edge of the thundering falls, bungee jumping from the Victoria Falls Bridge, and soaking up the rainforest’s breathtaking beauty. His off-day exploration—filled with awe-inspired reactions, photos, and pure joy—provided stunning, real-time exposure of this world-class destination to his millions of followers.

What makes this visit a masterclass in modern tourism marketing is its organic reach and authenticity.

Speed wasn’t on an official ambassador script; he was simply living his larger-than-life persona, reacting genuinely to new experiences.

Yet the result was profound: global audiences who once held outdated or negative stereotypes about Zimbabwe suddenly saw its beauty, hospitality, and excitement firsthand.

Social media erupted with comments like “I didn’t know Zimbabwe was this beautiful” and praise for the country’s culture and people.

The visit flipped narratives, sparked pride among Zimbabweans, and reminded the world why Destination Zimbabwe deserves to be on every traveller’s bucket list.

This accidental masterstroke highlights a key lesson for Zimbabwe’s tourism sector: in today’s world, authentic, youth-oriented digital content creators like IShowSpeed can achieve what traditional campaigns often struggle to do—reach Gen Z and millennial audiences at scale, build emotional connections, and drive curiosity that translates into future visits.

The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority and Ministry of Tourism wisely amplified the moment with hashtags like #VisitZimbabwe, #DestinationZimbabwe, and #ExperienceZimbabwe, turning Speed’s energy into lasting promotional fuel.

As Speed departed for Zambia via the iconic Victoria Falls Bridge—still buzzing from his Zimbabwe experience—the country emerged stronger on the global stage.

His tour didn’t just entertain; it marketed Zimbabwe brilliantly by showcasing its real magic through the eyes of an excited visitor. In an era where viral moments shape perceptions, IShowSpeed’s chaotic joyride has put Zimbabwe firmly in the spotlight as a must-visit destination full of wonder, warmth, and unforgettable adventures.

“I’m Not a Lesbian,” Royal Mint Sets Record Straight
  • Royal Mint Denies Lesbian Rumours in Candid DJ Ollah 7 Interview
  • “I’m Not a Lesbian, I Have Kids,” Mint Tells Podcast Audience
  • Socialite Reveals Use of Jadelle, Says She’s in Control of Her Body

In a raw and unfiltered episode of DJ Ollah 7’s popular podcast, Zimbabwean socialite and influencer Royal Mint opened up about persistent rumours surrounding her sexuality, family life, and close friendships.

The interview, live-streaming via a DJ Ollah 7 Facebook page that has garnered thousands of views, saw Mint firmly denying allegations of being a lesbian, while sharing intimate details about her children, birth control choices, and her platonic bond with fellow personality Nisha T.

DJ Ollah 7, known for his no-holds-barred questioning style, dove straight into the speculation that has followed Mint across social media platforms.

“People have been saying a lot about you, especially regarding your orientation,” Ollah said.

Mint, appearing composed yet passionate, responded emphatically:

“I am not a lesbian. I want to make that clear once and for all.

These rumours are just people trying to tear me down because they can’t handle a strong woman living her life.”

Mint elaborated on her personal life to counter the claims, revealing that she is a mother.

“I have kids – that’s proof enough of my life choices,” she said, emphasising her role as a parent amid the scrutiny.

She spoke candidly about the challenges of raising children in the public eye, noting how baseless gossip has affected her family.

“My children are my world, and I won’t let lies define us,” Mint added.

A particularly striking moment came when Mint discussed her approach to family planning, showcasing her commitment to responsible motherhood.

She revealed using Jadelle, a long-acting, implantable birth control method, as her preferred option.

“I show my control method – Jadelle – because I’m in control of my body and my future,” she said.

Mint described Jadelle as a reliable choice that allows her to focus on her career and kids without unplanned interruptions, urging other women to consider similar options for empowerment.

This revelation was presented as evidence against the rumours, highlighting her heterosexual relationships and experiences.

Addressing the core of the sexuality allegations, Mint was unequivocal about her attractions.

“I do not have feelings for women. That’s not me,” she said.

She attributed the misconceptions to her confident demeanour and close female friendships, which some have misinterpreted.

Central to the discussion was Mint’s relationship with Anisha T, another prominent figure in Zimbabwe’s entertainment scene, often linked to her in the rumours.

Mint described their bond as purely sisterly, rooted in shared experiences and personalities.

“Anisha T and I are like sisters – we have the same behaviour, the same vibe,” she said.

“We laugh at the same things, support each other through tough times, but it’s nothing romantic. People see two strong women together and jump to conclusions. We’re family, not lovers.”

The interview, which lasted over an hour, touched on broader themes of societal judgment in Zimbabwe, where conservative views often clash with modern lifestyles.

DJ Ollah 7 praised Mint for her openness, noting, “It’s brave to come out and address this head-on.”

Viewers have reacted strongly online, with many applauding Mint’s transparency while others continue to debate the rumours in comment sections.
