The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has released the November 2025 Ordinary Level examination results today, Friday, 16 January 2026.

Candidates can access their results online from the ZIMSEC results portal at https://results.zimsec.co.zw/ using the details provided on their Statement of Entry. The portal will automatically direct candidates to their respective regions where they can view their results. The online portal will remain open for five days, after which candidates will be required to collect their results from their respective examination centres.

Heads of Examination Centres have been advised to collect the official results from their Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Provincial Directors starting Monday, 19 January 2026.

ZIMSEC reported that a total of 209 810 candidates sat for five or more subjects in the November 2025 Ordinary Level examinations. Of these, 73 978 candidates achieved five or more subjects with a Grade C or better, resulting in a national pass rate of 35.26 percent.

This marks an improvement from the November 2024 examinations, where 199 669 candidates wrote five or more subjects and 66 130 passed, producing a national pass rate of 33.12 percent. The 2025 results therefore show an increase of 2.14 percentage points in the overall national pass rate.

ZIMSEC said the improvement reflects continued efforts to enhance teaching and learning outcomes across the country.

A 68 year old suspected serial fraudster from Murewa appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ Court facing money laundering charges. Peter Rupiya allegedly defrauded complainants of US$109,000, using it for personal expenses. He is already in custody for a separate fraud case and was denied bail yesterday by magistrate Jessie Kufa.

The state alleges Rupiya sold State land to prospective home owners between August 2022 and July 2024, claiming he owned a piece of land at Bromley Farm in Goromonzi. He collected US$109,400 from Stanford Chabaya, Kudzai Macqurors Chimuka, and Brian Chisvo. Rupiya allegedly used the money to build houses in Gazimbi and Mahaja villages.

He sold two houses for US$22,000 and one for US$27,000. Detectives added the money laundering charge after discovering Rupiya was already on remand for fraud.

Detectives investigating Rupiya’s activities received a tip- off on 13 January 2026 whilst he was remanded already at Harare Remand Prison on other fraud charges.

Acting on the information the detectives arrested him for money laundering.

Rupiya will remain in custody until 21 January pending a bail ruling.

Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Torerai Moyo, announced on Thursday.

“I am pleased to inform the nation that the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Ordinary Level examination results will be officially released tomorrow at 12 noon.

“This marks a significant milestone in our academic calendar, and I wish to commend ZIMSEC for its professionalism, transparency and commitment to upholding the integrity of our national examinations system. The timely release of results is a testament to the strides we continue to make in strengthening our education sector,” said Minister Moyo.

The announcement comes just a week after the release of the Advanced Level results, which recorded a pass rate of 83.1 percent, a marginal increase from the previous year. The A-Level results release was also praised for improved administrative efficiency.

Thousands of candidates across the country are waiting with bated breath as tomorrow’s O-Level results release will determine their academic and vocational futures.

Schools are expected to collect results from their respective ZIMSEC regional offices, while candidates will also be able to access their results online through the ZIMSEC portal using their individual candidate numbers.

ZIMSEC has faced issues with exam paper leaks in the past, which threatened to undermine public trust. However, the council successfully conducted the latest assessments without a hitch.
