Kashambe’s election, announced on Monday, October 19, 2026, marks a new chapter for the association as it seeks to build stronger professional networks and create opportunities for emerging mining industry leaders.

He will serve in accordance with the AJMPZ constitution, working alongside the chairman, secretary general, executive committee and members to advance the organisation’s objectives.

Speaking after his election, Kashambe expressed gratitude to members for entrusting him with the leadership role, pledging to work collectively towards strengthening the association.

“I am honoured to have been elected President of the Association of Junior Mining Professionals of Zimbabwe, and I thank our members for the confidence they have placed in me. I look forward to working closely with the Chairman, Secretary General, executive committee and the entire membership to strengthen our association and advance the interests of junior mining professionals,” he said.

Kashambe said collective effort, transparency, inclusivity and respect for the association’s constitution would be central to its progress.

“I believe that our progress will depend on collective effort, transparency, inclusivity and adherence to our constitution. I encourage all members to remain actively involved as we build an association that creates meaningful opportunities for young professionals and contributes to the sustainable development of Zimbabwe’s mining industry,” he said.

AJMPZ said it remains committed to promoting the involvement of young mining professionals through professional development, collaboration with industry stakeholders and opportunities to contribute to the country’s mining future.

The association also congratulated Kashambe on his election and urged members to support the new leadership as it works to fulfil its mandate.

Zimbabwe’s mining sector remains an important part of the country’s economic development, making the participation and professional growth of emerging industry players a key focus for organisations such as AJMPZ.

Hazel Karoro, the association’s secretary general, issued the statement announcing Kashambe’s election.
