France Woos Zimbabwe: Ambassador Unveils New Era of Cooperation

In a significant move to strengthen bilateral ties, French Ambassador Paul-Bertrand Barets has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the people of Zimbabwe for their warm welcome.

Ambassador Barets revealed that a delegation of French companies will soon visit Zimbabwe to explore diverse business opportunities across various sectors. This development is set to boost Zimbabwe’s economy and create new avenues for cooperation between the two nations.

“We are eager to deepen our political, economic, and social relations with Zimbabwe, Our focus will be on arts and education, fostering people-to-people connections that will cement our partnership,” Ambassador Barets stated. 

The upcoming delegation builds upon existing connections between French and Zimbabwean businesses. Notable French companies such as Lafarge, Total, Vinci, and Bureau Veritas already have a presence in Zimbabwe.

The French investment is expected to bring valuable expertise, technology, and job opportunities to Zimbabwe. President Mnangagwa’s administration has been actively courting international investment to revitalize the economy.

Ambassador Barets’ announcement marks the beginning of an exciting chapter in Franco-Zimbabwean relations. As Zimbabwe continues to open up to the international community, this partnership is poised to yield significant benefits for both nations.
