President Mnangagwa Welcomes Former CCC Heavyweight Back to Ruling Party

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has welcomed former CCC National Executive member, Cde Dzikamai Mavhaire, back to the ruling party, in a move set to bolster the party’s presence in Masvingo Province.
“I am delighted to welcome back Cde Mavhaire, a seasoned politician who has seen the light and returned home. His return is a testament to our party’s inclusive nature and commitment to unity,” President Mnangagwa said during a meeting with Masvingo Provincial leadership at the State House.
Mavhaire’s return, along with other former opposition members, is seen as a strategic move to strengthen the ruling party’s grip on power. As the President of Zimbabwe since 2017, Mnangagwa has been working to consolidate his party’s position and address internal conflicts.
The meeting at the State House provided an opportunity for the Masvingo Provincial leadership to brief Mnangagwa on the latest developments and reaffirm their commitment to the ruling party. With Mavhaire’s return, the party aims to capitalize on his experience and network to expand its influence in the region.
Mavhaire expressed his gratitude to President Mnangagwa for accepting him back into the party. “I am thrilled to rejoin the ruling party and contribute to its growth. I realize now that President Mnangagwa’s vision for Zimbabwe is the right path forward.”
According to Masvingo Provincial Chairman, Ezra Chadzamira, Mavhaire’s return is a significant boost to the party. “Cde Mavhaire’s return will bring valuable experience and expertise to our party structures. We look forward to working with him to strengthen our presence in the province.”
This move is part of Mnangagwa’s broader efforts to unify the party and bolster its support base ahead of future elections. As Zimbabwe’s third president, Mnangagwa has prioritized economic growth, international engagement, and domestic stability .
