Mnangagwa’s Youth Empowerment Initiative: 70 Heifers for Matabeleland South
By Enia Dube
Matabeleland South’s youth have received a major boost from President Emmerson Mnangagwa, with 70 heifers donated to 70 beneficiaries. Dr. Evelyn Ndlovu, Minister of State, handed over the cattle at Shangani Ranch yesterday. This initiative targets youths from Bulilima, Beitbridge, Gwanda, Matibo, Mangwe, Insiza, and Umzingwane districts.
The program aims to enhance livelihoods, promote food security, and foster economic growth. By empowering rural youth, the government seeks to address poverty and unemployment. This donation supports Zimbabwe’s National Development Strategy (NDS1) and Vision 2030.
Minister Ndlovu emphasized the importance of villagers advocating for their rights. She encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of this opportunity, promoting self-sufficiency and community development. By providing resources and training, this program will increase agricultural productivity, create youth employment opportunities, and improve overall well-being in Matabeleland South.
President Mnangagwa’s initiative demonstrates his commitment to inclusive development and socio-economic transformation in Matabeleland South. This empowerment program is expected to have a lasting impact on the region, transforming lives and fostering prosperity. As the government continues to invest in youth development, Matabeleland South is poised for growth and progress.
