President Mnangagwa Set to Address the Nation

This Wednesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa will officially open the second session of the 10th Parliament and deliver the State of the Nation Address (SONA) at the new Parliament building in Mt. Hampden. The event is scheduled to start at 2 PM, and the President is expected to address a joint sitting of the Senate and National Assembly, outlining the legislative agenda for the incoming session.
President’s address will highlight the issues that Parliament will focus on in the next session, including bills. Parliament will roll over to the next session, and any new legislation. Several key bills are at various stages of enactment into law, including the Parks and Wildlife Amendment Bill, Death Penalty, Abolition Bill, and Mines and Minerals Bill.
Some bills, such as the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, which was referred back to Parliament, are now ready to be gazetted .
Other bills expected to be rolled into the Second Session of the 10th Parliament include:
✅ Persons With Disabilities Bill
✅ Civil Aviation Amendment Bill
✅ Private Voluntary Organisations Amendment Bill. These bills demonstrate the government’s commitment to addressing critical issues affecting the nation.
As President Mnangagwa delivers the SONA, Zimbabweans will be watching with anticipation, expecting a clear roadmap for the country’s progress. The address promises to be a significant event, setting the tone for the next session of Parliament and outlining the government’s priorities for the nation’s development.
