Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa is scheduled to officially open the 2024 Zimbabwe Economic Development Conference (ZEDCON) today at the Elephant Hills Resort in Victoria Falls. This year’s conference, themed “Building Resilience and Driving Economic Transformation under Climate Change”, aims to tackle the pressing issue of climate change and its impact on the country’s economy.
Running from September 14 to 18, 2024, ZEDCON 2024 will bring together a diverse group of experts, policymakers, business leaders, and academics to share knowledge, ideas, and solutions for building a resilient economy in the face of climate change. The conference will feature a range of presentations, panel discussions, and workshops focused on driving economic growth and transformation.
With Zimbabwe’s economy vulnerable to climate-related shocks, including droughts, floods, and heatwaves, this conference is a critical step towards achieving the country’s economic development goals. The event provides a platform for collaboration and innovation, enabling stakeholders to work together to find solutions to the challenges posed by climate change.
By addressing the impacts of climate change, ZEDCON 2024 aims to contribute to Zimbabwe’s economic transformation and growth, ensuring a more sustainable and resilient future for the country.
