Namibian Minister of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment Creation, Honarable Utoni Daniel Nujoma, paid a courtesy visit to the SADC Chairman, President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House.
Briefing journalists after a closed-door meeting, Honourable Nujoma said the meeting was meant to share ideas on economic emancipation.
Nujoma, said “I am with former son of the President of Benin, Mr Kerekou. So before Independence through president Gaddafi, he used to bring us together, as youth activists.”
Nujoma added that he was a former youth representative of liberation movements in Southern Africa. He said he was based in Algeria, so that’s where we, SWAPO, ANC, ZANU PF and other activists from Mozambique and Angola we met on how to liberate our Southern African region.
We are happy that we have succeeded, now we are looking forward to see how we can bring meaningful economic independence to our region. That’s what we are strategising and we have learned great lessons from His Excellency, President Mnangagwa.
Nujoma also highlighted that they will have elections soon in November. He said they are also learning from Zimbabwe. SADC countries such as Mozambique and Botswana will also go for polls this year.
