Zimbabwe Parliament Gears Up for Legislative Reforms

Zimbabwe’s Parliament has made significant progress on several critical bills, paving the way for transformative reforms. The Private Voluntary Organisations Amendment Bill is currently under deliberation, aiming to strengthen the regulatory framework for non-governmental organizations.
In a bid to expedite economic growth, the Minister of Finance has announced plans to fast-track multiple bills through Parliament. This move is expected to boost investor confidence and stimulate economic development.
The Second Reading of several bills is scheduled to resume, with legislators set to engage in vigorous debates. The Committee Stage will also see amendments being discussed for certain bills, ensuring thorough scrutiny and refinement.
Parliament has now recessed until October 2024, with the Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs poised to seek Senate approval for the Zimbabwe-Rwanda agreement upon resumption.
