Empowering the Children of Heroes: Sam Mupedziswa’s Vision for CZLWVA Bulawayo Province
By Enia Dube
In a move to uplift the lives of Children of Zimbabwe’s Liberation War Veterans, Cde Sam Mupedziswa is running for Vice Chairman of the Children of Zimbabwe Liberation War Veterans Association (CZLWVA) Bulawayo Province. His campaign, themed “Umthanyelo Omutsha Uthanyela Ngcono,” aims at empowering the youth for a brighter future, promising leadership, progress, and development for the children of those who fought for Zimbabwe’s freedom.
As a dedicated member of CZLWVA, Sam Mupedziswa has been tirelessly working to support the children of war veterans. “Our parents fought for our country’s independence, and now it’s our turn to ensure their sacrifices weren’t in vain,” he emphasized in an interview.
Mupedziswa’s efforts have already made a significant impact on the lives of many. “Cde Sam has helped me secure a scholarship to pursue my education. He’s not only a leader but a mentor and a father figure to many of us,” said Nobuhle Ncube, a beneficiary of his programs.
The Zimbabwean government has also recognized the importance of empowering war veterans and their families. PresidentDr. E. D. Mnangagwa has pledged to facilitate broad-based empowerment projects for war veterans, ensuring they have access to social services.
Mupedziswa’s vision aligns with the government’s mission to provide for the defence, security, and protection of the country’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty, while also promoting socio-economic wellbeing.
However, the children of war veterans face unique challenges, including intergenerational trauma and psychological harm. Mupedziswa’s leadership seeks to address these issues through education, economic empowerment, and psychological support.
As the election for Vice Chairman approaches, Mupedziswa’s message resonates with the youth. “We’re not just children of war veterans; we’re the future leaders of Zimbabwe. It’s time we take charge of our destiny,” he urged.
With Cde Sam Mupedziswa at the helm, the children of Zimbabwe’s liberation war veterans can look forward to a brighter future, one where their parents’ sacrifices are honored and their own potential is unleashed.
