Free Ambulance Service to Revolutionize Healthcare: Bulawayo

In a groundbreaking move, Discovery Ambulance Services and Concord for Young Women in Business Global have joined forces to launch a comprehensive, free Presidential medical outreach program in Bulawayo. This initiative aims to address health sector challenges across Zimbabwe, with Bulawayo being the third city to benefit.

The chief executive and founder of Discovery Ambulance Services Dave Munowenyu, Engineer (Eng.) Collins Mnangagwa, President and Founder of Concord, Madame Apphia Nyasha Musavengana and Bulawayo  ZANU-PF Provincial Youth Executive where in attendence. 

The program offers critical health services, including free medical check-ups and first aid training. Residents can access body check-ups, blood pressure, blood glucose, and sugar tests, as well as free transport for patients. This initiative is part of President Mnangagwa’s deliberate strategy to improve healthcare nationwide. 

Madame Apphia Nyasha Musavengana, President and Founder of Concord, expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Mnangagwa for the opportunity to empower youth through free medical check-ups and training. She also praised First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa’s tireless efforts to ensure affordable and quality healthcare for all. 

Nketa Constituency Member of Parliament, Honorable Member of Parliament, A. T Mavunga, hailed the program as a game-changer for his constituency. “This initiative will bring timely and appropriate medical care to our doorstep during emergencies,” he said. 

 Mr D. Munowenyu was interviewed by Hurumende news reporter, and he expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the President for the opportunity to launch the Presidential Emergency Medical Scheme.  

He said, “this programme will provide critical health services, including training of first aid students, body check ups, and free transport for patients.” Mr Munowenyu added that, “everyone was welcome today to receive free medical check-ups and training.” 

He further said, “it’s an on going program which will see Bulawayo residence getting free Ambulance service.” 

The Presidential outreach program aims to spread to all provinces, bringing free medical services to the community’s doorstep. By 2030, the program seeks to ensure resources for health and the highest quality of life for all Zimbabweans.

This revolutionary program has sparked hope among Bulawayo residents, who now have access to lifesaving healthcare services. The free ambulance service, and medical emergencies will no longer be a financial burden. 

As Zimbabwe strives to achieve universal healthcare, this partnership sets a shining example of collaborative efforts to improve lives.
