Smart Cities Expo roars to life!!!

Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services, Minister Tatenda Mavetera and WestProp Holdings CEO, Ken Sharpe, attended the Smart Cities Expo today at the Harare Exhibition Park, bringing together leaders from the industry, technology innovators, urban planners, and Government officials.
The two-day event, running under the theme, “Zimbabwe’s Smart Future: Harnessing Innovation for Economic Growth,” was showcasing cutting-edge solutions and technologies that will shape the future of urban living.
The Permanent Secretary, Dr. B. Chirume and other Members of the Ministry attended the Smart Zimbabwe Conference, themed Building a Smarter and Greener Zimbabwe. The event was a hive of activities with various companies exhibiting tech products and services, so as, to make Zimbabwe more connected and efficient.
Speaking at the conference Hon. Minister said, “her Ministry was busy creating policies to make the tech environment orderly, for example (eg), AI Policy & National Cyber Security Policy.
Topics that will be covered during the conference will include, the role of ICT in shaping a Smart Zimbabwe, issues surrounding green infrastructure, opportunities, and challenges for carbon trading in a green Zimbabwe, renewable energy and smart grids among other topics.
This concept of the Smart Zimbabwe Conference was inspired by the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Masterplan which is a plan introduced by His Excellency, Dr. E. D. Mnangagwa, that encourages homegrown smart solutions.
