By Enia Dube
ZANU-PF’s 21st Annual People’s Conference is poised to tackle the nation’s pressing issues, with preparations nearing completion, revealed Secretary-General Dr. Obert Mpofu. This highly anticipated event promises to unite party members, foster economic growth, and improve the welfare of Zimbabweans.
“The conference will focus on the state of the economy, party unity, and the welfare of our people. We are committed to delivering prosperity to Zimbabweans and restoring our country’s glory. Our theme, ‘Unity, Economy, and People’s Welfare,’ reflects our dedication to addressing the nation’s most pressing concerns,” Dr. Mpofu emphasized.
The conference, scheduled for October 22-27 at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Grounds in Bulawayo, promises to be a pivotal gathering. Over 4,000 delegates, including diplomats, Diaspora district delegates, chiefs, service chiefs, government ministers, and officials, as well as local guests, are expected to attend.
According to Dr. Mpofu, economic recovery strategies will be high on the agenda. The party aims to promote economic growth, create jobs, and improve living standards for Zimbabweans. Party unity and cohesion will also be discussed, with a focus on strengthening the party’s ranks and promoting unity among members.
Improving healthcare and education will be another key area of discussion. The party plans to enhance the quality of healthcare services and increase access to education. Additionally, the conference will explore ways to boost agriculture and food security, promote tourism, and develop the nation’s infrastructure.
“We are united behind our President and committed to his vision for a prosperous Zimbabwe. This conference will chart a clear course for our nation’s progress and development. We have mobilized resources to ensure seamless logistics, including catering and transportation,” Dr. Mpofu affirmed.
Bulawayo Province has been chosen to host this significant event, highlighting the party’s commitment to unity and growth. The conference follows last year’s successful 20th Annual National People’s Conference.
