His Excellency President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, through his special advisor Dr. Paul Tungwarara, has injected US$500,000 into the Multi-Faith Economic Dialogue under the Presidential Empowerment Scheme.
The funding initiative is aimed at empowering various faith-based organizations and supporting economic development projects across religious communities.
In addition to the financial support, President Mnangagwa has also pledged 60,000 tonnes of cement to assist churches that currently do not have permanent structures.
The donation package further includes a solar-powered borehole and two truckloads of cement to improve water access and infrastructure development.
The intervention is part of ongoing efforts under the “ED Works” initiative to promote social cohesion, economic empowerment, and infrastructure development across Zimbabwe.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tungwarara emphasized the government’s commitment to supporting all religious institutions, highlighting the crucial role they play in community development and nation-building.
The latest donations are expected to strengthen relations between the state and faith-based organizations while enhancing livelihoods and creating economic opportunities within local communities.
