A truck belonging to Tika Chem Investments (Pvt) Ltd caused significant damage to infrastructure at the Trabablas Interchange on July 8, 2025, after its granite load fell onto the roadway.

According to authorities, the truck veered off course, damaging guard rails and pavement in the process.

The Vehicle Inspection Department (VID) has since impounded the truck, citing safety violations and the need for further inspection.

In a statement, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development directed Tika Chem Investments to cover all costs related to the repairs.

Officials confirmed that the truck will remain impounded until all repair work is completed and the vehicle successfully passes VID safety checks.

The incident has raised concerns over the safety of heavy-load transport vehicles and their compliance with national road safety regulations. No injuries were reported.

The Ministry has urged transport operators to ensure strict adherence to load securing and safety standards to avoid similar accidents in the future.
