Tragedy in Canada: Jah Prayzah Fans Die in Car Crash on Way to Concert
Two Zimbabwean men living in Canada, Anotida Maziriri and Edmore Mafuwe, died in a car crash on Friday night in Edmonton while on their way to attend the Ndini Mukudzeyi concert by popular Zimbabwean musician Jah Prayzah.
According to preliminary reports, the two were traveling to the show when they failed to negotiate a sharp curve, causing their vehicle to crash. Both men died on the spot.
The concert was part of Jah Prayzah’s Ndini Mukudzeyi North American tour, which has been drawing large crowds among Zimbabwean communities abroad. The tour, named after one of his latest hit songs, aims to celebrate Zimbabwean culture and connect with fans living in the diaspora. The Edmonton show was one of the highly anticipated stops, with many fans traveling from different provinces to attend.
The Zimbabwean community in Canada has been left in shock and mourning, as many had gathered to celebrate one of their country’s most celebrated artists. Friends and relatives of Maziriri and Mafuwe described them as passionate music supporters who were deeply committed to promoting Zimbabwean music overseas.
