Council Cracks Down on Unauthorized Construction Near Hunyani Bar
The Chitungwiza Municipality Development Control team has acted promptly to stop unauthorized construction activities taking place on an open space behind Hunyani Bar in Chigovanyika, St Mary’s.
A foundation that had been laid without approval was demolished under Section 24 of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act, which regulates and controls development within the municipality.
Officials have reiterated that the area behind Hunyani Bar is officially designated as Open Space, and no construction is permitted without proper authorization and approved building plans.
The council emphasized its commitment to enforcing planning laws and warned that illegal developments would be met with decisive action to preserve public spaces and uphold planning regulations.
Residents are urged to adhere strictly to legal procedures when planning any construction to avoid penalties.
