Zimbabwe Launches Global Investment Campaign in Japan
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reaffirmed Zimbabwe’s openness to global trade, investment, and partnerships that promote sustainable development and mutual prosperity.
Speaking at a business forum in Osaka on Tuesday, the president engaged with Japanese business leaders, highlighting Zimbabwe’s wide range of investment opportunities across sectors like mining, agriculture, and tourism.
He emphasised Zimbabwe’s desire to strengthen its economic ties with Japan, aiming for deeper cooperation aligned with both countries’ development priorities.
Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency (ZIDA) CEO, Mr. Tafadzwa Chinamo, also addressed the gathering, assuring Japanese investors that Zimbabwe is undertaking reforms to align its policies with global investor expectations.
Tourism Minister Barbara Rwodzi spotlighted the Victoria Falls Special Economic Zone, urging investors to explore the potential in the resort city’s tourism sector.
The event saw the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), marking agreements to collaborate in areas such as energy, tourism, and mining.
President Mnangagwa is visiting Japan to attend and lead Zimbabwe’s National Day celebrations at Expo 2025 Osaka, scheduled for Wednesday.
